100% Zinfandel

I first heard the siren song of Zinfandel while growing up in California.  Actually, it was my father whom I need to thank.  He loved Zinfandel of all styles and introduced me to their subtle complexities and chameleon-like nature.  Being a trained chef, he loved to pair his favorite Zins with dishes like smoked oysters, pot-au-feu, and big, juicy porterhouse steaks. I was his willing accomplice.

This Zin is an expression of my youth in California, my eccentric father, and the wines that we both love.  It has lively fruit notes on the nose with a long, beautiful finish. The spice on this vintage is very light. You’ll taste blackberry fruit leather and sweet tobacco leaf layered with those light baking spices.  I call it "Zelda" to describe its exuberance and whimsical beauty. I hope you enjoy it!
